Julliett balcony

Hi ,
I wish to fix a Julliett balcony to the freestone surrounding the doors on
the first floor.Will resin fixings stick nicely to this soft stone . The rest of the building is uneven stone work and may end up in the mortor anyway.

I did not think it possible to sit on a Juliet balcony - arn't these about 6" deep and just for show?

Any expansion bolt of suitable depth should be fine. No need for resin fixing

Information on Juliette balconies

A Juliette balcony is perfect way to add more light to your room. It is in fact a simulated balcony rather than a fully fledged one and is usually found in urban or costal areas to take advantage of fantastic views. Originating from Europe, the design is basically a very shallow balcony (sometimes only inches deep) with balustrades, allowing you to replace a conventional window with patio doors.

I wanted to be sure I didn`t split the freestone with an expansion bolt. It needs to be a good fixing as it`s a long way down. Whats u think.

Not sure what your definition of 'freestone' is, but stone, masonry, reconstituted stone or faced concrete is unlikely to be split by a fixing.

As long as you get a min 50mm fixing, then you are alright
