Jumbo Bag Kerbside Delivery Without Permit?

I don't have a front driveway and the only way to get materials into my garden is via an alleyway leading to through a gate at the end. I will need about 3 jumbo bags of material delivered. It's for a budget DIY project hence my query as the permit cost/application for a day would exceed the project cost itself wouldn't make sense.

I plan to have it dropped off kerbside (general parking spot for anyone). Will be hauling it into my garden immediately via wheelbarrow loads will take a few hours most likely.

Anyone had any "bad" experience from their council for anything similar? As there seem to be a lot of mention of just getting a slap on the hand/being told to move it rather than on the spot fines?

Also to add there is a jumbo bag few roads down besides a tree on the pavement for a few days now without any suspension notice/guarding etc.

If it's not a busy road, then just get on with it. By the time anyone notices it, to complain, it should be gone. Organise a BBQ, and and few mates, to help out with the barrowing.

If there are no yellow lines, and no residents’ parking bays, and no parking meters, then presumably the area is not visited by parking attendants, right? Then I think you’ll be fine. I’ve seen people keep bulk bags on the street for several days even where there are parking attendants and nothing has happened.

Do check that the supplier is happy to unload there, though.

Go ahead with your plan.
Although, I like Harry's idea of the bbq party.
Where about are you?
And do you like lamb?

I'm based in North West London, it's resident parking bays. Restriction is from 10-11am. Rarely see any tickets on non-permit cars/parking attendants coming around the area to be honest as I do occasionally work on my car outside.

Instead of kerbside (parking spot), pavement would be possible as well as the alleyway is close to a tree so it wouldn't block pedestrian access but I believe placing it on pavement and council seeing it would be a bigger problem than in the parking spot?

Just do it. You've got building work going on, you've got no choice.

Is there anywhere else your car can go so you can put it in your parking spot?

You'd hope common sense would prevail if you can show a parking permit to cover a parking place being taken up by a car sized object for a few hours, even if the object is not a car..

Would it leave enough space for a wheelchair user / mobility scooter to pass?
Yes believe there would be ample space.

Can even see a pallet here on Google Maps from March 2024 guess someone had works done around then as well!

Golders Green?
Harrow area.

The parking spots are residential parking permit spots active between 10am-11am only, as there is a underground station few roads down so assuming to stop non-residents leaving their cars and going off to work from the area. They aren't assigned/numbered its first come first serve.
