I have found two jb's under my bathroom floor, is this safe/legal with regards to water etc, how can it be put right? thanks.

Not desirable but and should not have been installed, not because of the risk of water ingress as this is no worse than the risk to light fittings etc below..

But..The JB's should be accesible for maintenance and inspection, so make sure that the boards above have an approprately marked hatch that can easily be removed (e.g. fixed with screws). A diagram and notes should be posted near the consumer and/or or with electrical installation records.

shhh.. don't give them ideas or it'll end up in the next regs edition...

"All accessories located in the floor void below a bathroom shall be of suitable construction and IP rating so as to prevent the ingress of water. All said accessories shall be protected with a residual current device so as to preven danger."

it just struck me that it would be a good idea to mount the JBs upside down, to prevent water collecting in them

Upsidedown....hmmm in order to mount them, does that mean screwed on to the kitchen ceiling :? !?

And you would need to silicone the screw hole and the cable entry points.......

I think we are struggling here for an interesting post !
