Just got up and the cold water isnt working!

A very good chance.....open the cold taps, and get as much heat into the house as you can - especially around the stopcock and where there could be draughts behind cupboards, etc.

Ill give that a bash - the hot water is fine, the heating is working too but not a drop from the cold taps? seems strange as they worked a few weeks back when it was snowing so cant work this one out. Also the heating seems to be coming on and off when it feels like it! not ideal when the cold is getting colder!!

If the hot water is gravity fed from a loft tank which connects to the copper cylinder, then that supply will run short too unless the tank can refill. Maybe there is a branch in the incoming water pipe, one branch serving the taps and the other serving the loft.....who knows?
Listen for any water rushing through the pipe near to the stopcock, and keep a sharp eye out for leaks. With luck you'll get away with it.
Be lucky!

Has a nasty neighbour turned off your water at the street? Or possibly a plumber you have not paid!

I have cold water!! The snow seemed to melt it so all sorted!

Whilst im here can any of you provide me with some good sites to get a good boiler? My heating seems to be switching itself on and off whenever it feels like it...I think its time for a new boiler, any suggestions would be good cheers chaps.
