K or J types thermocouples to set the lock shield valves plus plugs?

I have found it, my Fluke 52 thermometer

so now I need some thermocouples to use with it. And some plugs, it says I need a miniature thermocouple plug, unlikely I can find originals, I would think these are a standard item in a heating engineers tool kit, so are the any recommendations as to what thermocouples to use?

We get all ours from RS.
Plenty available with/without plugs.
I prefer fibreglass, if you aren't going to move the thermocouple around too much.

Almost certainly a 'K' type - the green one with green & white cores.

Lots of K-type thermocouples in RS

A thermcocouple plug would be RS 455-9764

Note that if you choose to fit the plug yourself, the green wire is +ve & the white white is -ve. I know its "automatic" that the green should be -ve!!!

Thank you I did have some thermocouple cable from when I did stress relief, thought they were red and yellow, but not got the firing kit so can't make them off any more.

Sure the original were yellow, does this mean I need J type?

Your Fluke can take either J or K.
For the temperature range you are using, it doesn't matter which you choose.
Generally I would go with a K, as there is less chance of oxidation damage with Nickel Chrome/Nickel Alu, over Iron/Constantan.
