i recently removed a fluorescent ceiling light from my garage. Now i have no lighting in one section of the house. i know this is because i have broken the circuit. I do not want to replace the light would just like to know what to do with the 3 red 3 black and the earth cable to regain my circuit safely.

You need to identify which cable is the one with the permanent live, and which one is not the switch cable for the old fluorescent. Those two should be reconnected.

The For Reference topic has diagrams of lighting circuits which show how ceiling roses are wired and why you need to do this.

A multimeter will make the job 100x easier.

Your problem came about because you removed the ceiling rose - what did you do with the ends of all the cables?

PS - lighting circuits are not rings....

Buy a junction box and connect the wires up in the same groups as they were initially - I hope you labelled them. The reference section contains a picture of a typical ceiling rose so you can see the groups you should expect. BTW, what did you do with the light switch?
