WE have had our property surveyed and it has been suggested that the exterior coating might be this product "Kenitex" or similar.

We are contemplating using a vibrating tool of some sort to remove this as it is (we are told) a type of plastic and quite unsuitable for a field stone construction building.

If anyone has experience of this type of job might they comment please?

Don't know how you would remove it but worryingly one of it's supposed benefits is that it Hides Structural Defects .

No not a worry here. Had a very serious survey by a historic buildings expert. We think it was applied to "cure" the damp problem which is actually ingress from above. The builder starts on the roof tomorrow.

That's typical, often damp can be traced to poor roofing , but people always look for mysterious causes instead of the obvious.

There are at least 10 penetration points to be addressed and when we move in I am digging and installing a French Drain to stop the ground water from reaching the building. The ground slopes towards us unfortunately.
