Hi,

Have searched the forums but cannot find a solution :(

The other day our oven popped, took out the electrics and emitted a strong plastic burning smell from the upper fan motor. We cautiously turned it back on to find it keeps emitting a loud buzzing noise and the lower oven bulb has gone-it actually exploded. The noise is coming from the upper fan motor and is there even without the ovens being on! Everything seems to work though which is confusing.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, we can't afford a pro but my oh is an electrician.

If your OH is a spark then he needs to get his meter out & start testing. Sounds like you need a new fan at least. Try disconnecting the motor & see if it still trips or the noise stops. The fact the bulb has blown may be just a coincidence or a sign that a pcb may be supplying 240v to a 12v component,he needs to check the supply to the lamp & the rating of it.
You may get someone replying with experience of your specific product who will be able to pin it down to a particular item if they have seen the fault before.
