I have a scantronic 9751 alarm system.

How do I reduce the sound made by the keypad when pressing buttons and also when setting/unseting the alarm?

Its a setting that can only be done in engineer mode. option 45 then select 1 to 9 9 being the loudest.

Thanks but this doesnt reduce the sound coming from the keypad. It is the main sounder and I have reduced this already.

I need to reduce the sound coming from the actual keypad.

It's probably a piezo device and they don't work when you reduce the power to them. They are basically a couple of agitated plates. You'll have to take the keypad to bits and muffle it.

i think that (like the galaxy) it may actually have a volume control potentiometer in the keypad itself.

take the keypad off of the back plate and have a look.

its a while (over 5 years) since i fitted a scanny, so i might be wrong

if you can can you confirm yes or no.

thanks

John
