Hi Everyone,

Just been to see a Kingfisher MF that ends up faulting to lock out 2/3 times a day, unfortunately it was behaving when I got there. I just ran the "s plan" on hot water only and restricted the gate valve on the cylinder to slow the flow down thinking I could mimic a circulation problem, the boiler just came up to temp and turned off, when circulation was opened up again the boiler fired no problem.

I put every thing back as it was and called for heating and hot water together and left it for half an hour. Upon my return to the garage where the boiler is sited I heard alot of clicky/chattering/relay noises.

Upon gaining access to the top of the boiler, the noises are coming from the ignition box/pcb. The clicking happens the fan seems to power on activating the pressure switch then more clicking and the cycle starts again till eventually we get sparks and ignition. This happens sporadically with what seems to be any real pattern? I watched it do this for about 10 mins it did not result in lockout. All the wiring connections seem sound, and the boiler is pretty clean of debris.

Bit confused as to whether I may have 2 problems here, or that the clicking cycle is eventually resulting in lockout?

Just wondered if anyone has had similar issues or has any good ideas

Thanks in advance.

This should be in the combustion chamber section if you are gas safe registered if not get a gas safe engineer to it.
