Hello,

Just had glass tiles fitted in the kitchen (10cm X 10cm) and the majority of the tiles (ones that have been cut and uncut tiles) look as if there is condensation behind the tiles. I have asked the tiler and he told me that this should not happen as the tiles are sealed therefore no water should be able to penetrate the tile from the back - makes sense. My next step is to approach Topps Tiles where I purchased the tiles from but before I do I would be interseted to Know if anyone has had this happen to them. I have spent alot of time & money on a new kitchen and at the moment these tiles spoil the whole look of the room.........

can you see through these tiles?

how are they fixed to the wall?

how old is your house?

Hi,

You cant see through the tiles, and they were fixed to the wall by the tiler who told me he used the normal adhesive, and the house is only 9 year old. The tiles basically replaced old tiles that were on the wall.

if you can't see through the tiles, I don't understand how you can see condensation on the back of them.

What I meant to say is if you hold the tile up to the light I cannot see through it. However the tiles that have been fixed to the wall gives the appearance that I can only explain as looking like condensation.

ask the tiler what type of adhesive he used and how he spread the tiles ?? important if he used his notched trowel , this is probably why it looks like condensation, the back of the tile has a white backer i take it ? so you have to either use white adhesive and rather than trowel it on the tile or the wall, you have to cover the whole of the tile like a paste, if you try it with one tile let it dry and see if that helps , thats all i can think it is outside of your walls being damp? then the tiles would fail and fall off the wall. hope this helps
