Kitchen sink cut-out (another one!)

I saw the previous topic re: sink cut-outs and my question is fairly similar...

I'll be buying either a solid beech or 'butchers-block' worktop for our kitchen and this will require a sink cut-out for a belfast sink and draining grooves.

I've currently got a Makita 4340CT jig-saw.

Will this give me a good clean cut? and can someone please recommend some good blades for the job (or for hardwood in general as I'm using ash for the actual kitchen cabinets).

Also, what are my options for the draining grooves? I've got a whole house to rennovate and so I expect a router will turn up on my shopping list at some point - is now the time? any recommendations? and if I do buy a router, should I use this instead of the jig-saw for the cut-out?

Lastly... if I do use the jig-saw for the cut-out, what drill bits can you recommend for the initial corner holes?
