Kitchen sink - sound dampening thing - like blu-tac ?

In my kitchen pack from Homebase I got this (see photo) - like strips of blu-tac type stuff.

No instructions ... not 100% sure what to do with it ?

Clues please? Thanks

At a guess, you stick it under the sink bowl to reduce drumming. I think I've even seen this stuff stuck under draining boards as well.

Other peeps may be on here later who will know for sure.

It's sealant strip - fitted around the sink perimeter before the sink is clamped down to the worktop.

horrible stuff. it'll keep oozing out over the next few weeks.

Through it away and get a good quality clear silicone. Once the sink is clamped down go around the edge and clean off the excess. Make sure it oozes out around all of the sink to prevent and water getting under the sink and damaging the worktop.
