I need to replace my existing kitchen sink waste outlet, just the actual sink fitting c/w overflow but I'm confused with the sizes when trying to purchase online.
I have measured the existing outlet and the bottom part which scrws into the rest of the waste pipe system is 48mm. The top flange which butts up to the bottom of the sink is 70mm o/d and 50mm i/d. The bit that sits in the sink is85mm o/d and the recessed part is 42mm dia
Can someone aadvise what size I should be looking for when trying to order online?

A pic would help, do you not have the original waste, just measure that.

Most modern sink wastes use either a 90mm basket strainer waste which sounds like what you have or a standard waste with a plug & chain, they tend to be around ~ 54mm.

All should have a 11/2" outlet to fit a standard sink trap though some of the cheaper copied throat on the outlet can be a little smaller and sometime cause problems with some traps.
