Sink waste - conflicting instructions

Hi,

I am installing a waste into my kitchen sink. I'm a bit confused by the instructions...

The waste comes with a Polyeurythane washer which goes between the waste flange and the sink - ie, in the sink not beneath it.

The instructions say, "To ensure a watertight seal, we recommend silicone sealant be applied between the waste flange and the sink." However, this instruction has an arrow that points to the area between the bottom of the sink and the rubber seal.

So where should the silicone go? Between sink and rubber seal, I doubt it. If it goes between the waste flange and the sink, does it go above the PE washer, below it, or what?

Thanks for any advice.

Ask the Manufacturer or Importer. Their phone no should be on the instructions.

What material sink?
If stainless steel no silicone normally required. If ceramic I would tend to use silicone above and below in adequate but not excessive quantities, keeping a kitchen roll handy for cleanup.

It's ceramic - will do as you suggest!

Thanks
