Hi all,

I'm looking for a quick critique for my kitchen set-up.

There appears to have once been a free-standing cooker unit hardwired to a CCU (Switch & Socket) which I am now filling with a Built-In 2.2kW fan assisted oven. The Hob above will be gas with electric ignition (plug wired with 5A). There will also be an extractor unit above.

As it stands, I've utilised a pre-existing spur from the other side of the wall, connected to a 13A fused connection unit, which then feeds through to the kitchen wall so a single socket below worktop level; this will be for the Fridge Freezer.

I'm planning on adding a further single socket from the 13A spur to support the 5A igniter plug, - this will be behind the units in a similar fashion to the other single socket.

The Extractor will be supplied by a 13A plug, connected to a single socket I'm looking to spur off the switched 13A socket on the CCU, leaving the plug somewhere above the upper units.

I'm planning on creating these spurred sockets with 2.5mm sq. twin & earth (grey on diagram). The CCU is on a radial dedicated cooker circuit, whereas the other sockets are on the standard ring mains.

Does this set-up look okay? I can alternative add a switched 13A spur to the CCU to Oven circuit, or replace 6mm sq T&E with 2.5 (if the 6 is overkill).

I've ran this past my mate (who is Part-P, but not currently practising), but he suggested I run the extractor and hob straight to the 45A switch on the CCU; not so sure he's thinking clearly on that one.

Here's a diagram I've knocked up, to help visualise the plan...

After your CCU, below the counter, I would fit a 2 back boxes.

1. For an oven flex outlet
2. For a socket to plug the gas ign into.

or maybe two single sockets if the oven comes with a plug.

You won't need the 13 spur for the fridge then or long? cable run to ign

The Oven has a terminal box input, so no flex/plug supplied.

So you're suggesting spurring a single socket off the CCU to feed the hob (so the hob igniter is essentially on the cooker radial?). Like this:
