Kitchen worktop dilemma

Chaps can you help me decide either on a good quality laminate or granite worktop. My main concern is the weight. To the ones who already have a granite worktop. Are you not concerned about the unnecessary weight ? what if you need to gain access to a pipe behind the units. The weight of the worktop means it's a three man job. However it does look so much better and the install costs are so much cheaper now.
Your opinions would be much apreciated

I can't answer those questions but what I would say is be careful not to install something too bold! If you ever want to sell the house a strong pink, black or grey granite worktop might not help when it comes to selling as it's the kitchen, which sells the house and the kitchen's main user who decides whether to buy or not!

Stick with laminate in a plain colour/pattern, is my advice.
