Hi, can anyone tell me how I can go about recovering old kitchen worktops rather than replacing them? I don't want to spend too much, I've bought new doors & drawer fronts but the worktops are quite dated!
Thanks!
You have my sympathy! I was in the same situation last year - replaced my s/steel sink and those horrid blackish-blue worktops popular about 15 years ago. I was lucky enough to get some lovely off white ones from a contact who works for Persimmon Homes but you could look on Ebay. I have seen some fantastic bargains on there. I bought a brand new ceramic sink (still in box) for £120 and I have seen lots of worktops. Incidentally, I don't know the size or layout of your kitchen but the guy that fitted my worktops and put the sink in said it was a real pain fitting worktops to existing units! Just awkward really. You may be ok but carrying a full length worktop in and out of the kitchen to cut it and juggling it into position was really tricky.
Best of luck!
