Wonderful forum here! I should have found this years ago.

I would like to install a door from the house to the integral garage.
The door will lead off the hallway.

Does anyone know what the building regulations are for this being done?

(i.e. fireproof door, height of step, locks, does it need to be inspected?)

Any help very welcome.

100mm step down to garage (to prevent petrol from a leak or fire running into the house); fire proof door. consult the building control officer at your council who may have a leaflet as it is a common change, and will need to inspect the work.

Also, you must have good locks, and mortice bolts top or bottom to slow down burglars (just a bit, as your garage will be full of crowbars, hammers and saws)
