we would like to create one big kitchen diner. At the moment the hallway seperates the kitchen from the dining room which are opposite each other. We would like to remove the walls to do this. Obbviously we appreciate that some steels will need to be added when removing the walls. We live in a bungalow and above is the roof space so they are load bearing.

Where do we start to get things rolling with this project?

Many thanks

Speak to a local structural engineer particularly one that is involved with domestic structures.

It would be a bonus if the structural engineer was in cahoots with the local authority (council) too.
