I've built a 2 storey extension and now need to knock through from the main house into the extension.

I'll be putting in a 4m beam downstairs and upstairs will be 2.5m beam, which will carry the existing wall plate.
Half of the upstairs beam will be directly above the downstairs beam.

Which beam would be best to do 1st, upstairs or downstairs?
