Anyway, you should have someone footing the ladder, and, maybe, use a stabiliser stand-off bar that spreads across the window opening - with this device you dont have to lean back.
Be wary of a ladder resting on a slippy plastic or wood fascia. Never rest the ladder on a gutter - plastic or metal.
In theory, 900mm of the ladder should project above the gutter but its not always feasible.
