I wonder what life held for this young lady.
Chritina O\'Gorman.jpg

A year after this was taken World War I began.... Her name is Christina O'Gorman and the photographer was her father.

Considering the age of the photographs, she looks remarkably 'modern day' and they were probably considered rather risqué at the time.

Christina Elizabeth Frances Bevan, she died in 1981 when she was 84, with no listed husband or children.
Apparently not the photographer's child but daughter of a friend.

That's what I thought. Until I saw this picture I had no idea that ladies of that era actually had legs and, what's more, they look rather like the legs of present day ladies.

Strange seeing it from that age in such beautiful colour - it looks as though it could have been taken yesterday.
We are so used to seeing old photos in monochrome that we forget that they lived in colour. The colour gives
it an immediacy - bringing it to life - and makes us realize that in many ways, their world was not much different than ours.

That's because you can't see above the knees. Still, nice picture.

But that's how it should be. Her long skirt is far more fetching than the leggings or even short skirts worn by many over-fed females today.

Hey, take care.... You'll be onto number two if you're not careful!
