Got a friend who might be able to do it

panelling low level kitchen area. Lay vinyl flooring and screed.

I would like to labour with him to learn but when I helped him before I made 2 stupid mistakes and worry he wont want me. Thing is I was asked if i could do the job (from my ad) so he owes me if I ask him to do it? Should I say to him (to persuade him to have me work alongside)

- do you want to do the job, you'll run it, but could I labour with you for less money?

if he's anything of a teacher, he'll know that hints go wrong and lessons are learned. It's only a mistake if you do it twice!

What have you got to lose by asking? By all accounts you're giving away the job anyway so if he says yes, you're not going to make a lot on it. If he says no, you'll make nothing on it (if you don't do it) and the difference between not-a-lot and nothing, isn't much

If you decide to to it on your own, ask here/watch YouTube for advice on doing it? Laying vinyl planks is a doddle, but keep the planks somewhere cool until just before you use them
