Hay all,

I want laminate flooring in my hallway, and carpet then going up my stairs. My question is this: which one has to be put down first?

Please bear in mind that I will be doing the laminate floor myself but the stair carpet will be fitted by a fitter.

Cheers

Dan

Hi

Install the laminate first, leaving a proper expansion gap also in fornt of the stairs. Carpet fitter normally will fold the carpet at the first 'raiser' double, so that will cover your expansion gap there.
