I made a bit of a mistake a few years ago when I laid a new laminate floor, I covered the access to the central heating pump. The flooring was laid on old t&g wooden flooring, I now need to make the pump accessable again and what I was thinking is to cut a square out of the laminate flooring and then make a new piece that would fit into the gap, the problem is how would I do this and what tools would I need to cut the laminate flooring without cutting through the wooden flooring as well. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

I'm afraid it's gonna be a botch whatever you do. I just hope it's not too visible. I'd imagine a battery operated circular saw with a small, small toothed blade would be your best bet.

yep joe has it sussed :D :D

circular saw set at 10mm measure the distance from the blade to the front off the saw base

go past the cut point by that amount

you will need to finnish the corners carefully with a sharp chisel or tennon saw
