Laminate Flooring

It will look much neater than using beading around the edge to hide the expansion gap. I removed all mine & the door architrave but I was re-skimming the walls as part of a renovation. Problem is you almost certainly need to replace the skirting with new as it's inevitable it will get damaged in the process.
 
For asthetics, as Richard says, remove/replace the skirting. If the skirting is nailed and you don't do too much damage taking it off then you can always reuse...making full use of wood filler of course.

I think the beading looks awful and laminate under the skirting looks more professional.
