Hi all

A search didn't yield any results for this question so apoligies if it has been answered before.
I am about to lay laminate in a kitchen over existing floorboards - I've secured the floorboards and the floor is pretty level.
What thikness of hardboard/plywood is recommended for the subfloor?
Sould the subfloor wood run with the floorboards or at right angles the same as the laminate?

Cheers
Neil

3 - 6mm hardboard or plywood.
Since your new subfloor are sheets it doesn't matter any more which direction your existing floorboards were installed - that only matters when you install the laminate directly onto the the existing boards.
