Laminated flooring

hi jus wondering if any one can help me out, i was gonna lay some
laminate flooring in my flat but the floorboard have kind of sunk in
the centre of the room creating a pond effect, i was gonna use selfleveling
compound to smooth out the dip but since it is a first floor flat i wasnt sure
that would be a good idea,the other alternative is layer ply across the whole room to level out the floor, but then i would have to raise the level of the total floor which i was trying to avoid as its a bit of a low ceiling, any help much appreciated

Do you know/can you find the reason why the original? floorboards have sunk in?

More likely the sleeper wall plate has rotted away, will need new flooring if that's the case.

thanks for the replys much appreciated, but the house is on a hill
so everything in the house is literatly bent, like doorframes are slated etc i did yank the floorboards up to see if the joist had drop but it looks fine, i will give it another bash and see what i can pulll off

Do a test with a thin screwdriver and poke it and see if the wall plate is rotted, you wouldn't be able to tell the condition of the timber from the outside.
