I have just replaced rose and cable on both top and bottom landing lights the bottom one works perfect but the top is a nightmare the light is on but will not turn off from either top or bottom switch I also have a red cable which belongs to house alarm at one time I had this linked and although switches worked at that time if switch on alarm went off I have now got that correct by moving this into live and not in loop but still cannot work out how to get switches to turn off top light at moment I have two blue in N connectors two red in loop guess this is lights and two brown and alarm red in two L connectors

Firstly it should be in UK electrics forum, secondly I am afraid you would need to write a much clearer post than that, and thirdly I strongly suspect you need to get a qualified electrician in as in all honesty it doesn't seem you have the first idea what you are doing.

The fact you mention the loop it would seem you have some idea of what you are doing.
As an electrician often where wiring has been messed around we can have a stab at quick correction guessing at the most likely scenario. However if after 5 minutes this has not worked then we have to return to the slog of ringing out every cable. There is no short cut.
So you need to mark and list cables and wires something like this.
Cable red spot
Red =
Black =
Cable blue spot
Red =
Black =
Cable three core
Red =
Yellow =
Blue =
As you work out each cable it will fall into place. I would start at identifying the switch wire as rather easy with all power off. I normally take photos before I start and posting photos on here may help.
The switch wires are often the odd one out where a black is often switch line return once that is identified then much easier.
Two way switches are not wired the same as single way. In general the three core cable goes like to like so yellow to Com in one switch will also go to Com on other switch. There is no colour for each function old colours all should be red and new all should be brown so it down to each guy wiring to decide what colour to use for what.
But single way switch uses com and L1 but two way uses L1 and L2 as main connection to lamp. (Assuming there is a com on the switch some are marked L1, L2, and L3).
As to getting help from this forum pictures always help. As already said the information given does not really help us work out what has happened. Often trying to explain to some one else means it also becomes plain to your self what is wrong.
I can't understand what an alarm has to do with lights? However in my sons house setting alarm reduces temperature for central heating so some times there are interconnections we don't consider.
