my laptop cloverleaf cord with following spec had ac cord burn out(neutral) hence the 5 amp fuse was not blown (my assumption) the cord was .75mm. the psu is input 100-240v 1.2A 50/60hz and out put 19v 3.42A. The psu is ok as i have checked with multimeter.
My replacement ac cord is .50mm with 3amp fuse will this b ok if not what thickness cable is the correct one and does not fry up. thanking all in advance. kindly note i am not an electrician. i hope it is in the right section.

The power supply is only 65W, which is under 1/2 A at 240V. The new cord will be fine.

Most likely the old cord failed because it was defective from the start, or had failed after lots of flexing near a stress point (they tend to go where the enter the moulded on plugs). If it was a cheap cord, it might not have had much copper in it at all.

the replacement is from the local shop but the cord is still made in china like all the others!
