Not sure what section to put this in so thought I would stick it in here!

I am trying to get hold of some very large polystyrene or maybe foam high density foam sheets, approx 2400 x 1200 in size, or larger if possible.

They must be no greater than 20mm thickness

I have been on fleabay but the large sheets seem to be 75mm thickness

I have looked at the usual building suppliers and insulation companies they seem pretty expensive per sheet to be honest. i'm thinking maybe a packaging company or direct from a polystyrene manufacturer

Anyone know where the best place could be? I know companies throw this sort of stuff away as its used for packaging but i dont even know where to start looking

Its for a friends new Koi Pool. He is building a new pool but limited to a budget, he will be using the sheets for the internals of the pond, it is basically to cushion between the underlay and the internal walls/soil to give a good base

Why limit himself to 20mm? 25mm is readily available last time I looked as is 50mm.

have a chat at your local builders merchants, they sometimes have sheets that come in for packing on other materials.
i recently got a full sheet f.o.c from 1 to go under my splash pool.

Although on a budget, how big is this koi pool? I toyed with the idea, but the whole setup looks a huge outlay (filters, pumps, wiring etc). Bottled it in the end.

He says it will be approx 2500 gallons when finished. It will be about 10' x 8' and 5' depth.

I have a large koi pool but mine is block built from the base upwards. He has made a concrete collar, built blocks onto that and then dug down too
