large SD card support

'SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller' driver version 6.0.4069.5 for Windows XP doesn't support large cards. 4GB SD card works fine with Linux but not under XP. However, I can read 1GB cards and smaller under Windows XP.

I bought an external USB card reader, which works with 4GB under Windows XP.

Does anyone know if there is a 32-bit Windows XP driver to make the built-in card reader work with larger cards?

It's an Advent 8315. It started off with Windows Vista but that would BSOD every time it went on standby. There were various other problems too, so I installed XP as Vista didn't give me anything extra that I wanted. Now I can simply close the lid to go on standby and open it to come off standby.

The SD reader is on a 'Texas Instruments PCIxx 12 Integrated Flash Media Controller' with 2.0.0.6 driver.

TBH, if Windows 2000 supported cleartype, I'd be happy with that.
