Renovating our study in a 1880s Tyneside terrace flat on the first floor. We have come across half brick/ half l&p internal walls multiple times while renovating other rooms in the flat. One (on the first floor) we removed altogether, the other (also first floor) we took out the bricks and reinforced with more timber studs. Not sure what to do with this one (also first floor). The other two internal walls in the flat don't have laths, only bricks, so I guess those are structural.

What, if any, are the benefits of keeping the wobbly bricks in this one? Structural reasons? Taking out the bricks would make it easier to plasterboard and insulate (sheep) wool).

Ideas, anyone?
