I have decided to rip up my old floorboards and put on new ones.
My plan is
1) buy 28mm by 137mm white ine flooring tongue and groove.
2) leave the flooring in room in which it is to be laid for a week to reduce shrinkage.
3) hire a floorboard clamp to fit the floorboards closer together.
$) leave a 9mm gap around the perimeter and then clamp together up to 6 boards. Then nail the floorboards onto the joists using lost-head nails.
I will continue to do this until the floor is covered. (How can you use the floorboard clamp on the last floorboards to fit i don't know as the joists will all be covered bu then!)
5)Then varnish the floor.

Anyone see anything wrong in this method?

thanks in advance

Scott
