I have a 200x100mm (h x w) RHS steel and need to lay bricks on it. The radius is bigger than I expected (about 1"), so this would make the bed joint look like 35mm. It will be inside a garage, so I'm not worried by the appearance too much. Would this be acceptable?
It has a shelf plate on bottom, so it's about 215mm tall in total (5mm bed), so I also have another 10mm to make up, which would make the bed look like 45mm . Alternatively, I could switch to medium dense blocks and then cut them to 75-80mm where the steel is.
In hind sight, I think a steel plate on top would have made this much easier and looked better as it would then be approx 225mm to match the bricks.
