Laying gravel on concrete around house

Hi all

I have a 1m wide concrete path around side of conservatory. Currently has old decking on and seems to drain fine. I'm removing the decking and want to cover the concrete with something. The whole path is contained (by raised decking and steps, and the conservatory wall). Is gravel OK to use, and if so without any additional edging? It won't have too much footfall as normal route is out the back door and up on to the decking. Any particular gravel more suitable?

I would suggest 20mm gravel or decorative stones. Smaller stuff you will slide around on.
