Hi all,

Without dragging an old tread of mine up ... I finally over the weekend removed a couple of tiles to get to the concealed cistern so I can replace the old faulty syphon with the new Top Serviceable ones.

I purchased the dudley turbo 88 syphon, Followed the youtube & printed instructions for replacement. Poured some water into the cistern and there appears to be a slight water leak at the bottom of the cistern where the backnut touches the base of the cistern

No matter how (slightly) hard I tighten the the backnut with the spanner, I still get a leak. So looks like the black washer on the inside is not making a complete seal. I am afraid of over tightening and cracking the cistern.

Anything else I can do or simply purchase a different brand syphon?

Thanks
