Essex fix a tap seals and buy some brass nuts
white plastic cap things
Well there is a set on eBay for an acrylic bathEssex are a hopeless company to deal with....think of Britain 50 years ago. I imagine they still invoice with ledgers and quills.
thats a poor DIY bath installation.
things cramped up makes it hard to work on, and might cause heat transfer from h/w to c/w hard pipes and/or pipe rattle.
gasguru and others have made good suggestions - packing with extra washers wont help and might hinder, likewise using top hats.
you need to release and lift the taps, and clean and dry all surfaces.
FWIW: you could try concave rubber washers below the rim, with, as suggested, brass back nuts - ditch the plastic rubbish.
to release the in-situ backnuts and flex connectors you might try (just google) Multi purpose sink spanners. they can make difficult access easier.
