I’d get a plumber in. It will seem like money well spent if you attempt it yourself and it goes pear shaped.

It's the lower fitting....I think it's called a female iron in plumber land

I'd have expected the leak to be at the upper joint, but if it's the lower, re-doing it with PTFE tape or other thread sealer should cure it.

Chances are a tap connector would have fitted to original heater tail.

Hi people.
Bad experience with plumber.
I have a 15ltr hyco water heater which is leaking at the hot water connection.....1/2 inch BSP to 15mm.
Is this relatively easy to fix or do I have to call another plumber....more expense .Cheers

Why dont you call the original plumber? Or was he not a plumber but claimed to be one?

The original "plumber" turned out to be a cowboy.....i did all the checks that "Joe public " are advised to do. Unfortunately I was at work when he did the job.
