Leaking Bath (I think)

Here's hoping that you can help a newbie out. Had a bath yesterday and the woman who lives downstairs complained that a shed load of water had seeped into her kitchen. Now the water hadn't overflowed when I ran it and it was clean water coming into her kitchen, from what I could see. As a result I wanted to have a look underneath and see if there was anything glaringly wrong with it and if it was minor if I could fix it.

So I unscrewed all the screws holding the panel on but now I can't seem to get the panel off, and have already made one little crack in it

Anyhoo, I was wondering if anyone can share the most simple of instructions with me and tell me how the flipping heck do I get the side panel off the bath. If you require any further info just let me know.

It`s probably caught under the floor covering along the bottom edge of the panel.you may be able to lift it up under the rim of the bath a bit

m8 just rip it off and replace it with cladding after ..gives a great finish painted or varnished....

BTW give the bath overflow a twist, I had one like that, thought it must be a leak in the waste, but the chrome overflow grid screws into a plastic socket on the other side of the tub and goes down a convoluted plastic hose; this screw was loose so leaking at the joint when I lowered my great fat carcass into the water.


BTW if its the "free" thin pressed plastic panel that comes with the bath, don't worry, a big hammer will get it out of the way in no time. It will probably crack however careful you are.
