Do you mean from where the spout meets the body of the tap?
There are usually two 'o' rings where the swivelling spout enters the body of the tap and leaks there are common.
As for a leak where the body sits onto the sink, I suggest you look underneath where the tap tails enter the tap body......most unusual for leaks to show at the place you mention!
