Leaking water connection on new toilet

Have just bought a new toilet with water connection below cistern. Have tried several different connection, but can't stop the slight leak from the compression joint. Any help much appreciated

First of all, should it have a compression joint? it would be more usual to use a tap connector.

Whichever it is - tap connector with washer, or compression joint with olive, do this :

undo the nut and pull the joint apart, Wrap 2-3 layers of ptfe tape over the washer (or olive) and re-assembel and tighten, should do the trick.
