Hi can anybody give me any advice on which way to turn next? I renovated a sanstone barn and to keep the lovely sandstone on show spent a small fortune having all the joints raked out, pressure washed and re pointed (weather struck style). I then sprayed the sanstone with an approved silicon sealer, Fine until approx 2 years ago after serious storms water appeared to be running in and ontop of and down the side of the plasterboard reveals on all the east facing windows and doors. I repaired any cracked looking pointing and re siliconed which seemed to work for a while but it started again. I then filled the sandsone with a waterproof grout to try and solidify the walls and prevent any more water ingress, this hasn't worked either .I am at the stage where i think rendering the whole face is going to be the only option but i want some thing that is going to be very water proof still asthetically pleasing to the eye and not require painting every year. does anybody have any advice on any products or specialists that they have possibly used on a sanstone barn conversion as i can't afford to throw much more money at this problem any info will be gratefully recieved.
Regards.
