Leaky Soil Pipe

I recently hit an underground soil pipe while digging, bit of a bummer, but no big deal, we were excavating anyway, so we cut a new length, re-attached with a slip-coupling and dropped it in. However, the other end (pictured below) going into the inspection chamber (right) now drips (you can see the small puddle beneath). Maybe it dripped before, maybe we caused it, I don't know, but I'd like to sort it before I bury the pipe. We can't get the pipe out now unfortunately unless we cut it in half and add another slip coupling, which I'd obviously rather not do. There might be a very small amount of wiggle room for me to pull it back by 5mm, but that's about it, I think.

Is it possible I got the rubber seal around the wrong way, or do they only fit one way? How can I go about sorting this?

Maybe dirt or grit on seal.
Can you remove pipe?

Joints want silicone-based grease or plumber’s lubricant gel.
Will ive it a good seal after cleaning
