Lean to glass roof.

Ion in the prosess of renovating a 50s council house.
To one side of the house there’s a out building that’s been converted to a utility. That’s separated by a walk way and that’s been covered by plastic see through roofing. What I want to do is remove old roof and replace with a glass roof ( like a conservatory roof. It’s 5 meters by 1 meter.
Do I need to contact building control ? I don’t want to spent x amount to be told to take it down ?? Cheers

I thought that was the case, Mrs has had a right fall out with me saying I need to inform building regs !
