Sure. Quote the regulation you think you have heard of and I'll point it out
All EU members which have joined the bloc since the signing of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992 are legally obliged to adopt the euro once they meet the criteria, since the terms of their accession treaties make the provisions on the euro binding on them.
I can't quote the regulation.
If you can't quote the regulation you think you have heard of, I won't point it out.
"All EU member states are in principle obliged to introduce the euro once they fulfil the convergence criteria"I'm pretty sure that all new EU members states have to adopt the Euro. When that becomes well known, I would imagine that a lot of people who say they want to re-join, will have second thoughts. There is also the rebate and other opt outs we had, as well, which we are unlikely to get again if we re-join.
"All EU member states are in principle obliged to introduce the euro once they fulfil the convergence criteria"
'In principle' is not an obligation...
Have you heard of the phrase 'negotiating an opt out'?
The EU were willing to allow the UK to negotiate many opt outs during it's membership, and would no doubt still do the same.
Because it would still be a valued member.
Unfortunately the UK which seems hell bent on going 'full US style' whereas the EU value the people far more!
Grow up!!!!!

If the government says, for example, "we will fund the NHS adequately when the time is right"
(Or "when all the conditions have been met")
Does that mean they will do it?
And what happens when the EU abolish the veto?, which is their stated intention.
The reason I hate brexit is not all about the economics...Thank you for a polite, thoughtful and grown up response.
