LED bulb in bulkhead fitting

I have a bulkhead light at the front door and it's wired to a separate PIR. I recently changed the bulb to an LED and now it comes on at night and doesn't go off until daylight.

Is it an issue with putting the LED in? It's been working fine with an ordinary bulb

an older PIR was probably designed for a filament lamp so may be unsuitable.

also, the current drawn by an LED is so low that it might illuminate just with tiny stray capacitance.

Thank you. I'll change back to an ordinary bulb. The PIR is donkeys years old
