Hi need advice on dimmable 12v halogen replacements. Been looking at LEDs but not many claiming to dim. Is there an issue with this?
 
they are widely available but...

1) downlighters are poor anyway at lighting rooms, why would you want to dim them further.

2) you will need to ensure your dimmer switch can take the low load

3) 2900k is considered a normal halogen type light, so if you get 4000k or above it will be very white or blue type light.

4) IIRC Elv lighting will be banned in europe from 2014 to 2016 depending on type

5) transformers, drivers or inverters are another thing that can go wrong.
