LED stair lights

I'm fitting some leds into my stairs, but have found that the adaptor end is not fitting behind the stringer and wall two well. All old plaster had been hacked off so there's a good 20mm gap for all the wires. Apart from cutting each adaptor end off and rejoining does anyone have any other ideas?

It is easy.

Get your digital camera/smart phone and take a picture.
Transfer it to your computer

Many thanks that helps! Will use in future hopefully. But I'm probably going to cut them and solder back together and apply heat shrink for good measure. Done a test on a spare one and works fine. Only seven to do so not too bad!
